Emergency! (flood after new gutter istallation)

Would really appreciate your advice!!

Just changed the roof/complete with new gutter (brick townhouse, flat roof)….Come this night rainstorm: water is pouring along the back wall (top floor …down to the cellar)!

The new gutter is enclosed in drains directly into the sewer line at the back of the house…

Few questions:

– are there any interim measures to protect the house (in the next 3 days of non-stop rain)? we spent all night trying to collect the water …

– can someone recommend a real expert in all aspects waterproofing (gutter, foundation, drains, who can see the big picture?

– what is the roofer liability in this type of situation?

– fortunately, the rooms are gutted (floors, walls and ceilings), but unfortunately, the subfloor and the windows have been installed…Can the wood (metal clad on the outside) windows survive being essentially “in the rain” for 2-3 days??

Call the contract whom you used to do the works. I am sure they will come to check and fix the problem. I agree with first comment.

Call the contractor that did the install(if it’s a new install). Unless you hired a fly by night contractor. If they’re reputable, then they will be more than obliging to come rectify the problem, as it should be under a warranty. It could be a simple fix.  Without seeing whats causing the problem it’s hard to diagnose via the internet. If you not happy with the contractor that did the installation then I’m sure there’s lots of contractors out there who can help you. Good luck.
