"Cool roof" coating?

Has anyone coated their roof with this new “cool roof” stuff made by APOC? It’s the stuff the Bloomberg administration is painting on city buildings to reduce heat absorbtion and the heat island effect. A roofer suggested this coating would extent the life of our current roof so we could postpone putting down a new layer for a few years, but the info I see online talks only about the cooling effect, not about life extension. Since money’s tight now, we are considering it but would love to hear if anyone has tried it.
