I am looking for suggestions for an engineer and contractor for a basement dig out. Looking to bench the foundation (not underpin). In conjunction, new steel beam, new slab and new under floor drains. Expect to pick up about 8 inches. If someone would be willing to share experience and costs even offline that would be appreciated.

We did just that and it ran us just under 20k for aprox 400sqft.

It was part of a larger contract but it was a change order so i was able to see what the bottom line cost for it was. Not really answering your question but I doubt that they would charge anywhere near that number if it was for a one off project and not part of a much larger contract.
