Let’s hope this is not indicative of what’s to come in the summer months…1010 Wins reported that three teenagers were shot and seriously wounded yesterday afternoon near the intersection of Franklin and President Streets in Crown Heights. The three teens were shot at by a gunman on the roof of a building. The shooting happened at 3:30 p.m.—just as school children were probably on their way home. Great. Update: Looks like there was also a triple-shooting on East 16th Street last night. Ugh.

  1. “until those blocks police themselves, then that area will not be safe. ”

Don’t these places all support the “snitches get stitches” belief?

  2. i don’t care if the victims are targeted or not, when gunfire is a reality in a certain area, as it is on that stretch of franklin, then it’s not “isolated”

ultimately, it’s up the community and not the cops. until those blocks police themselves, then that area will not be safe.

might not be a popular sentiment but I believe it’s the truth

  3. The NYDN uses the term “crew” in its stories quite often. The first time I read it, being hopelessly out of touch, I though they were talking about a group of seaman from a ship that had docked in Brooklyn. The whole story was very confusing.

  4. Legion, I watched some viseo from the Times Square incident and was laughing as the cops hauled away some creatin whose pants had dropped down around his knees because they were probabl half way there to begin with…made him easy to catch!!!

  5. quote:
Whats the difference between a crew and a gang?

probably the violent initiation process? who knows tho. ask the people at the park slope food co-op.
