Let’s hope this is not indicative of what’s to come in the summer months…1010 Wins reported that three teenagers were shot and seriously wounded yesterday afternoon near the intersection of Franklin and President Streets in Crown Heights. The three teens were shot at by a gunman on the roof of a building. The shooting happened at 3:30 p.m.—just as school children were probably on their way home. Great. Update: Looks like there was also a triple-shooting on East 16th Street last night. Ugh.

…so on the weekend we had teens “wilding” in Times Square and four people were shot randomly.
The papers had the photos of the paddy wagon unloading the perps and I didn’t know what was sadder;
the lack of proper parental guidance or the fact that one of the perps had a rainbow colored sweater.
Imagine getting jumped by the Grimace or Ronald McDonald.
Whats the difference between a crew and a gang? I should read the urban dictionary.
The morning news said it was four teens and they were all gang members.
So it was drug related??? or did somebody diss somebody else’s girlfriend????
The incident, according to people who live on that block, was not random and that group of kids was specifically targeted.

This WAS an isolated incident, just as that little girl who got shot was an isolated incident. She was shot while some jerk was shooting AT a particular person.

there are some beautiful houses along those blocks, but also some rough apartment buildings
no way this is the norm. crap happens but shooting from rooftop has to be the acception – or so I pray.
I still love my crown heights pad which I was over there getting mail shorting after the shooting (& explains why traffic was slow in the area)
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. A little girl was shoot at that same corner late summer 2009. What I find amazing is that the precincts is right there…like 2 blocks away. Are cops on foot portal over there?
