Let’s hope this is not indicative of what’s to come in the summer months…1010 Wins reported that three teenagers were shot and seriously wounded yesterday afternoon near the intersection of Franklin and President Streets in Crown Heights. The three teens were shot at by a gunman on the roof of a building. The shooting happened at 3:30 p.m.—just as school children were probably on their way home. Great. Update: Looks like there was also a triple-shooting on East 16th Street last night. Ugh.

Not in the land of entitlement, Legion. This has been learned behaviour over generations.
Good god. How awful.
Far less likely a sniper than some lunatic firing away with a ‘Saturday night special’ at supposed enemies who dissed him or otherwise pissed him off. I’m surprised he was able to even hit anyone from a rooftop.
And Rob, that sadly might be a truly good idea.
I guess the economy can’t be that bad if kids still have money for guns.
Here’s an idea,
work programs for criminals;
have them work while repaying their debt to society,
There’s a sheriff in Arizona who puts criminals to work on country projects,
we could use strong young men to clean up our shorelines,
clean out vacant lots, dig holes for trees.
maybe they’ll learn the value of a hard day’s work.
Well… good ol’ Flatbush got all “shooty” last night. 3 guys got shot. While NY1 called it “East Flatbush” and it was just regular ol’ Flatbush (or whatever real estate euphemism you want to use), the report made it sound like a pretty random shooting.
Jaysus. We’re all gonna die.
Rob, that’s a great idea. I am sure it would help. How about some corporations donate the equipment?
I suspect he’s one of them, ditto.
sickening. i feel terrible for those families….
An isolated incident – the guy was just pissed about the report yesterday that 50% of households pay no federal income tax.
AND I THOT ABOUT BUYING IN THIS AREA!!! My thoughts were: 1-2bdrm apt in park slope/prospect heights/fort greene, OR a WHOLE HOUSE in Crown Heights South… The math seems to make sense, but these incidents make accepting a nabe change a tough pill to swallow!!!
For those that may know this area: isolated event or common event in the area?
