Eggs and bacon are back on the menu for the South Slope following the recent opening of the Little Purity Diner. The delectably named eatery—an offshoot of the New Purity Diner on 7th Avenue and 7th Street—has set up shop on 12th Street and 7th Avenue, in the space that used to house Katina’s Diner. South Slopers glad to see the brunch spot revived? GMAP

  1. Can’t anyone spell anymore?…and maybe we all don’t need nicer places…maybe we just need a greasy spoon. A cheap place to eat with runny eggs. This is Brooklyn after all!!!! And BTW as a straight person here….you gay guys really need to learn how to live in a neighborhood with all kinds of people….what is a gay place? Is it a place that doesn’t welcome straights? How would you like it if Purity didn’t welcome gays?….get over your gay-self (and I don’t mean that in a bad way.)

  2. Memories of moving into Park Slope in 1978…..late nights at McFeeley’s (was it still Camperdown Elm then?)….late mornings at the original Purity eating eggs over easy and chatting with George and laughing at the waitress we called Blinky…she took your order one item at a time, went to the kitchen, came back and took another item, went to the kitchen, came back etc….and the busty woman with the great boufant behind the counter, screaming to the kitchen “cup o creamo”….ahhhh the good old days!!!! They don’t call em greasy spoons for nothing and the definitely serve a purpose.
