Although the 77th Precinct maintains a map detailing the locations of recent crimes, no such visual rendering is available online. Some folks on Brooklynian’s Prospect Heights message board are trying to change that. They’ve set up a map that allows anyone to report muggings or other violent incidents in the neighborhood, and they’ve also added data from published crime reports. Seems like a great community resource, though you have to wonder how many inaccurate or overblown reports are going to find their way into the mix. Nevertheless, neat stuff.

Actually Brooklyn Heights and Boerum Hill is richer than CG and more likely to get mugged I think so you are jumping to the wrong conclusions on my meaning.
By your logic, CG is not rich at all.
I’m just pointing out that it is relatively safe – so there – probably more about the design and community – kind of smallish with lots of nosy neighbors in a good way.
I wonder if there are many muggings in williamsburg. That’s where the money is!!!

That’s why places like Japan, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Singapore, have so much crime! Because the muggers all go to where the money is!
And that explains why places like Jamaica, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Brazil, Colombia, and Afghanistan have so little violent crime, because they’re so poor!

I prefer to mug people in Carroll Gardens, because while for a mugging in Park Slope that brings in 100 bucks, the CG mugging is guaranteed twice that!
Just my stream of consciousness – when I see these pegs I don’t want to live near there and this was my first thought. So muggers lurk at 3am waiting for defenseless/drunk people to appear. Why doesn’t this happen in some other areas like CG?
Carroll Gardens is way way way safer in terms of street crime than Park Slope. That really is Brooklyn 101. But so?
