I thought it was hilarious and surreal but don’t believe it was staged. That shoe was traveling fast and would have done some damage to the head if it hit the target (or perhaps knocked some sense into it).
SNL has been awful for years and Biff’s right…the Tina Fey thing was to SNL as a $15B bailout will be to the autos.
BRG, SNL has been awful for years. It got a shot in the arm from Tina Fey during the Palin campaign, but there are a million funnier shows to watch.

What, I know, I was trying to work in a bad joke there with a reference to their offense, which was in fact impressive. You’re right; the bullpen was atrocious and the cause of their collapses over the past two years. It’ll be interesting to see how much Wilpon lost to Madoff and if and how it will impact the Mets. I know the Mets are saying it won’t impact them, but I’m not sure I buy that.
