randi, nutcracker vendors are pretty territorial. make sure you’ve been “cleared” (and I dont mean Mr B) to operate in that area of billyburg else you’ll…….
There is a 1960’s book called “Sonrise” (I think that is the title). It is about a little boy who had autism, only there was no diagnosis or treatment then, and practically no knowledge of the condition. The parents in this book were innovative in how they helped reach their son (who seemed trapped in a world of his own).
As I understand it, it’s true that the incidence of Autism seems to be increasing.
I also think that Minard’s point about it being more out in the open has a lot to do with our impressions as well.
Diabetes has always been around but its incidence has increased in epidemic-like fashion, it’s not just due to increased detection however.
Both are probably a combination of complex genetic/environmental factors. People are having children older these days as donatella mentioned and awareness is increased as well. Other factors like drinking and even environmental/recreational drugs and chemicals are being studied.

In russia, the autism gets you.
“You have to re-wire their brains while their brains are still elastic. its tricky stuff.”

A cameo appearance by Minard on the OT!
