  1. (and the IMF guy seems like a total creep, but I understand that the hotel room was a) an upgrade, so not actually 3k/night to him, and b) paid for out of pocket, since he wasn’t on IMF business)

  2. A large percentage of people I know with young kids gave their kids what I would describe as made-up names. I’ve always found this ridiculous, although it provides a nice comeback when older relatives are mocking made-up names for black kids.

I feel like giving your kids goofy names is just mean (I knew a Justin Case growing up). If they want a rockstar name, let them change it to something crazy later on.

  3. BHS – It’s not about how he ran the IMF. It’s that he’s a “socialist” who drives a porsche and stays in $3000 / night hotel rooms and flies around first class all thanks to his job with a quasi-governmental entity. Socialism never ends up actually being about fairness and opportunity. Socialism starts with all sorts of naive goals and *always* ends as a vehicle for those in power to enrich themselves (monetarily or otherwise) through the state.

Fairness and opportunity are created by the absence of state involvement.
