  1. We lived in Birmingham for 10 years, and would often visit the Smokey Mountains of TN and NC, so we drove through Chattanooga a lot.
Every person should see Rock City once in their lives. It is a unique place.

I have been though/past Ashville a few times, but it was always on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

  2. etson- a question that I wonder will ever be answered. I think there are points of agreement that are easier to define0- freedom of religion for one. That no one religion is given precedence. That everyone is free to practice their faith, so long a it hurts no one else. Freedom of speech, for the most part. I think “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” pretty much covers it, with the caveat that we do so without inflicting harm. Of course that’s all beautifully vague, which, I guess, brings us back to your original question 🙂

  3. “No one, especially not the majority of American Muslims, are seeking to import sharia law wholesale in the US. Nor is Sharia law a prevailing law in Europe.”

    bxgrl,

lol, now who is being blind?
Why that is exactly what the Ground Zero Imam has stated in his writings; “how to make the US Shari compliant”.
    His words not mine.
Please stop equivocating and just see the hypocrisy of getting all flustered about the “moral majority” while excusing the Sharia activists.

…and by the way, in the UK a judge recently allowed a divorce based on Sharia law issues. These are real issue bxgrl, I’m not pulling them out of a hat. Pay attention to France. They banned the Burkha for a reason. And it wasn’t Christian Fundamentalism.

  4. I have always wanted to go to Ashville, NC.

    What’s it like?

I have been there, very cool all American town, get for antiquing. I was there in the 80’s. Don’t know how it is now.

  5. Legion, I never said any such thing, and really do not want to engage in an argument about this topic. It’s one you are incapable of having any rational thought on (Islam), and I really don’t want to go there, not to mention bore everyone else to tears going over points that have been said many times.

For the record, I am an infrequent church going, but believing Christian. You have absolutely no idea how I feel about my faith, or the faith of others, whatever that may or may not be. I don’t judge other people by who or how they worship, if they worship at all. I’m not going to vilify an entire believe system just to wave the flag.
