  1. Ha, downtown Birmingham must certainly seem dead to someone accustomed to larger cities. I thought it was pretty big when I was there, because where I grew up was half the sized.

I worked for a large natural gas pipeline company headquartered in downtown, and spent 7 years getting to know all the lunch options.

  2. I remember going to Birmingham on a customer visit – a utility. I remember being downtown and wandering around with a young staff member looking for a sandwich shop, looking for a sandwich shop, looking for a sandwich shop. We were starving, looking for some sign of life and there was none.

The customer visit was good and we said FUCK the sandwich, let’s get the hell out of here.

  3. “Jewish courts can issue or deny a get (a Jewish divorce). ”

I am not a Catholic, but as I understand it the Catholic Church does not recognize civil divorcies and you can be excommunicated if you remarry after a civil divorce with having the marriage annuled by the Church.

  4. How much simplier can I put it?

If one is against Christian teachings which might be interpreted as subjugating women then one must surely apply the same rigor and objection to those in the islamic community who seek to do the same.

I have yet to hear bxgrl agree with this very simple
    proposition.

I can tell you the reason,
it’s not politically correct to call out the idea of Sharia law being implemented here. At least on the Left.
