  1. “I wonder how many overpaid CEO’s ever talk to their employees and find out exactly how “happy” they are? And How many employees, worrying about their jobs, would be honest enough to tell them?”

BG, there is a whole HR industry of consultants and other useless people who actually do survey employees to determine their level of happiness. Mrs. D has shown me some of the ones she’s had to fill out.

After all there is quite a bit of positive PR in getting on Forbes’ ‘100 best companies to work for’ and similar lists.

  2. Scott – Road traffic is minimal but security depends on where you’re going & if it’s a heavily booked access area. Tuesday to TX shouldn’t be too bad except flights were cancelled today.

  3. “lech – If you took that advice to heart why are you so often posting bitches about working late & weekends?”

Excellent question. I should ask myself that more often. Perhaps I’m still the grunt who works late instead of the brilliant tax partner who answers a few high-value questions. How I feel about my work changes often. One of my biggest problems with the legal profession is the billable hour. In a profession like this, being judged on the volume of hours you work, rather than on the value you add, is painfully antiquated. There are some contradictions in all of the things I say about my work. I know that.

  4. DIBS, do you recall me saying a few times there that I need to learn how to maintain a website, twitter & face book accounts? it was for the same reason – need it for the biz. tons of small retail biz now require this.

  5. “Obama joined the fray because he’s the most left winged of any president we’ve had in history. he’s also a politician and is posturing wrt the electorate. I sincerely believe though that he doesn’t have his finger on the pulse of America anymore…hence the “shellacking””

Dibs, what’s the current “pulse” of America then?
