Etson- but to what end? because they really care about happy employees, or only about unhappy employees speaking out or acting up? Some corporations really do care- I know that. But the average corporation? Not so much.
Software / Silicon Valley folks get very well paid, don’t they? Don’t know that industry well at all, but that would seem to be a well paid form of engineering.
Heavier engineering is less well paid, but I think still above median for similar level graduates.
There seems to be a growing movement of union support, so I think Obama understands exactly what he’s doing.

the CEO of my former company (he’s German btw) had a meeting with all of us from the label that was making money(sorta). The meeting was done 3 days after 50 people got laid off – some of them the best and brightest and actually made a difference…. – anyway we all pile into the large conference room all ready to get the “Rah Rah” speech and instead got some crazy speech about if we are traitors we must leave, leave now – as we will not be tolerated and if anyone is unhappy they should just leave as they were slowing down progress! – HAAAA – Progress at a record label – haaaaaaaaa
