Went to VT this weekend. Snow everywhere. Massive amounts of it. It was like we were under siege in the farmhouse.
Wife and kids went up on Wed and I went up to meet them on Fri. I rented a car at the Westchester airport. Short, fast train ride to White Plains, $20 cab ride to the airport, and voila I was past all of the worst driving and tolls and the car was $50 cheaper than it would have been in the city.
Gem – There’s a photo in the Times this a.m. supposedly of Franco & Hathaway – both in dresses. I don’t know what either of them looks like. Did Franco do the show in drag?
Oscars? Anyone??
my thoughts on dresses:
Loved:
Gwneth(dress only) Hilary Swank(dress only) Amy Adams(dress only) Michelle Williams, Halle Berry
Hated:
Sandra Bullock(too dated) Marisa Tomei, Scarlett Johannsen, Melissa Leo and Cate Blanchett
I thought the show was really boring and James Franco and Anne Hathaway were bad hosts. He was getting weirder as the night wore on and she just got more annoying, I think over-compensating for him. No real surprises either for any of the winners. No good speeches – I gave it a “C”
Randi, you should me in a better mood today as our Knicks gave us a big win against the Heat. Of course losing to Cavs (in a game where we got hammered on the boards 62-42) does put some egg on the face. But all in all, am pretty happy
Most of the Democrats are still in bed. On a similar note, a staunch Democrat on the train this morning was talking about how great Christie sounded in an interview over the weekend. He was apparently the feature story in the NYT Magazine.
DIBS, that’s funny. I thought some of the lines in the Denny’s video were hysterical. Btw, you may have just won the award for earliest thread kill since the inception of the OT.
Biff, I’ve begun taking my donut money and outsourcing stock research to Thailand. I find that the Indians are too thorough in their work so i send it to thailand. I can write off a business trip 3x a year there to go over and supervise the quality of the research. This allows me more time to post on brownstoner.
In fact, just this morning, my Thai go go boy, er, I mean stock analyst texted me the Personal Income & Expenditure numbers as they came out.

BHS – that’s actually quite impressive that you have spent your entire life and never watched an Oscar show
Arkday – no he just wore a dress for like 5 mins – haaaa
