Not been a pretty 2 days in the stock market. I am fairly diversified and my conservative stocks are holding steady, but anything remotly risky is in the toilet.
I only have one Chineese stock right now (CCME), and it’s not doing as bad as a few others.
benson, YES! when i was walking to the train this morning i was looking around being like daaaaaaaaamn it’s really nasty and littery around here lately. then i saw a little pink rollerskate on a dirty mound of snow and laughed.
We’re just swimming upstream until this President abandons his Keynesian philosophy and realizes that a crushing debt burden is not the solution to a faltering economy.
Keynes himself said on long term debt: “…we’ll all be dead by then.”
He was right in one respect; he’s dead now
and we’re left dealing with the problem.
“I should have known when he told me that he was in “waste management”.
Legion;
In my grammar school, there was a classmate who was an abolute idiot and bully. I couldn’t stand him. Years later we had a reunion, and we went around the table and talked about what we were doing. When he said that he had taken over the family “waste management business”, I understood.
benson, I agree that the Sanitation Department’s performance has been highly erratic. Seems that a lot of recycling is being ignored, and it’s just been sitting on the snow drifts or partially buried for weeks now. It’s really gotten disgusting. And a lot more plowing / clean-up needs to be done.

Our pickup in Bed Stuy hasn’t been bad at all. Everything’s gone. Sometimes they came the day after the regularly scheduled pick up.

“Yes, DCB, I’m sure it is but the investment return assumptions are probably way too highâ€
Recently I’ve been thinking live well til the money runs out, don’t have kids (terrible thing to do to them), and then jump off a bridge.
