jester,
I’m more than happy they’re rounding up the usual suspects,
throw in the gang bangers and thugs, miscreants and malcontents as far as I’m concerned.
Few things get more more aggravated than watching a group of thuggish looking dudes standing around a corner at 11:00AM with nothing on their agenda besides scheming.
I’m not trying to glamorize them. Hello, this is Benson speaking ;-). The waste management jerk I mentioned above is much more typical of that lot. You have to admit, though, that the story of the guy on 60th street is funny.
Go to nyc.gov to find out about recycling pick-up. Ours hadn’t been taken since before xmas because of snow & holidays but it went last week on the normal day – & was announced on the website so we put our bins out.
“LOL, Benson. I heard that about Williamsburg Jewish men. They are horny motherf*ckers (no pun intended – don’t know if they’re into MILF’s 🙂 )”
there’s a cracked out Satmar who wanders around Broadway late on Saturday nights and tries to pick up the bartenders in the bars down there (Duff’s, Trophy, random mexican nightclub) – really sad, actually.
I have zero patience with people who think the mob is some kind of fascinating lifestyle or glamorous world. I wish the final episode of the Sopranos had shown how their victims suffered unfairly and then all the family get arrested.
“-as a favor to a group of Satmars that he got to know, he owned a place on 60th street in Bensonhurst and rented out an apartment to them, which served as a “screw pad”.”
ha ha,
…the streets may be filthy and the rent too high,
but that’s the kind of story you’d only hear in NYC.

Current headline on NY Times website : “F.B.I. and Police Arrest More Than 100 in Mob Sweep”
