  1. Jackal — lots of rescued stray kittens in late spring and summer. Locate a vet you like and start inquiring in April or May. Most good vets end up with some stray kittens around that time. that’s how we got ours.

  2. All my cats are rescues- rescuces are usually wonderful-they seem thrilled at having ben adopted out of prison or on death row. Don’t worry about MM’s kittens. Nary a thought in the bunch and cats have no loyalites, 🙂

  3. “cobble, I’m hungry. Where’s dinner? I thought you made chili and bought bread today? I’d like to be served in my tent, please.”

You can bring your skinny little butt inside if you want dinner! I am not going out on the deck. No way, Jose!

And yes, I made chili and have fabulous Eli’s sourdough to go with. BH just got home. Dinner in 30 minutes!

  4. I’ve always had pairs of Siamese since I was about 4 years old. They’re fun & intelligent & very friendly. I think the bad rep on Siamese comes from the 40s when UES types kept them as a fad. It’s really great if you can get siblings – VASRC sometimes has them.
The cats aren’t skanky – mine was up for adoption because his owner had died, not because he was abandoned somewhere.
The point of going to a good rescue place is that they’ll interview you about your wants & suggest animals that fit those needs. They want you to keep the cats so they try for a good match. There are some cats that are spooked but there are people who like to adopt those too.
