  1. the mere fact that gem worked in the music industry doing MARKETING shows the vast difference btw music in the US and China.

although i’ve never heard any chinese music to judge it’s creativity, i’m sure there’s stuff they’re doing alot more original than lady gaga, the alice cooper/david bowie/madonna hydra who sings cookie cutter lyrics over generic dance beats.

so, you are talking about Western music. I thought you were referring to creativity in Chinese people. I would say that if a musical genre is within a Chinese traditional framework, it might not appeal to us, but there are Chinese musical traditions the expression of which are very creative, i.e. Chinese opera. We might not get it and if we imitated it, you might have a bunch of people in Beijing slapping their thighs looking at us trying to do it.

yes, I guess – but only Chinese people appreciate this.
I would say most people(on a global scale) do not sit around and listen to Chinese music be it their own expression or a copy cat of other music…..

  3. I think we have only to look at the accomplishments of China over the last 100 years to put that idea they can only copy to rest. They were brilliant./ Communism took the lifeblood out of them but I have no doubts they have not forgotten their past and they haven’t lsot their abilities.

To tell the truth, it gets a little tired to hear that only one group or another can have “soul.”

  4. “And I insist you begin paying his pension to his bereaved wife.”

Pension, schmension! I already told you that because YOU were having an affair, that negates his employment contract, and ipso facto his pension!! The elf kids and wife get ZIP, NADA, SQUAT!!!
