I disagree that the Chinese were so great before Communism. Their empire was rotting and falling in on itself well before Mao came along.

yes, I guess – but only Chinese people appreciate this.
I would say most people(on a global scale) do not sit around and listen to Chinese music be it their own expression or a copy cat of other music…..

Trying to understand how musicians learn to play passionately, I was just looking up the Italian terms used to give instructions to musicians when playing a piece. My favorite is either “andante” or “vivace.”
