  1. rf, I would totally take you up on that but I think we’re already hiring one of the college students you helpfully recommended the other day! Will need to double check with the mrs, which I will do when I’m no longer stuck on conf calls.

  2. Gem, can you ask your husband to stop at Target and get you boots? They have multicolor rain boots that do the job. Cheap too. Not very warm, but just get a size bigger and wear extra socks.

  3. If I was prego I wouldn’t be complaining so much! I think b/c of this snow and my own stupidity for not having proper snow boots I feel trapped in my house. I have so many plans this week with friends and appts that I was looking forward to that this snow is making me cranky!

  4. Denton, that sounds very tasty. We have a traditional Christmas recipe but nothing for New Years. One year in California when I made steamed ginger lobster but can’t imagine doing that here.

Re storm, cars stuck on our street all day for two days. Three days. Still stuck today. Steve & others on the block kept going out all day long to help people. And still were this morning when I left for work.

Thank you, Arkady, for the plastic bag idea. I shoulda done that! Maybe tonight when I’m putting out the trash.

Ah, Dirty Hipster, what a perfect day you had yesterday. I am so jealous 🙂

But I did finally clean the downstairs hearth though so we can move the kitchen! I’d been putting that off for weeks. It was an-unknown-number-of-years-and-mice disgusting.

Stil is, really. I’ll have to try paint stripper on it later this week. Ah, so glorious.

  5. I agree with Pete. I don’t have a car here so I really don’t care all that much. I enjoy the snow, including the bedlam and mayhem that goes with idiots getting stuck in it. The subway is working so I’m fine. if I need a car service home some night, Atlantic, Bedford & halsey have all been plowed. No problemo.
