so what. i dont know what your point is. there ARE many MANY more things available to the poor, than say someone struggling like myself and many others.
excuuuuuse me for not having been born with a uterus to exploit.

Rob, women everywhere thank whatever Higher Power they believe in everyday that you are not a woman. Your statements show, once again, your underlying jealousy and dislike of women. You also think you know ALLLLLL about the poor, what they want, what they will do or won’t do, and most of all, what they are getting FOR “FREE”. Well, you don’t know sh*t.
As for yourself, you make a decent salary. You live in a good neighborhood. The fact that you are “struggling” has more to do with your personal lifestyle choices than the fact that some poor person somewhere has taken something away from you, or is living high on the hog on your dime. Why don’t you look to your own demons before demonizing someone else?

well, a one time gig, i have no problem with someone not paying taxes on. but a full time nanny job? eh, i have issues with that. moreso because it benefits teh people paying for the nanny, but of course it helps the nanny get all kind of public bennies too. i dont know, it’s a win/win but a lose/lose.
whatever, if i really had to i could always borrow one of 11217 long blonde wigs, buy a dress from some lame consignment shop, and just become a park slope sweedish nanny (they make more money than the west indian ones cuz a lot of people who hire nannies are racists in liberal sheeps clothing).
oh and did anyone seee the big rockefeller christmas tree? fugly and dark as sin with those energy efficient lights. ugh it’s christmas, the universe could splurge a little on it’s energy for our visual entertainment.
when i saw them light it, i wasl like what? that’s it? is it on dim? does it get brighter? i would have booed if i was there
DH-haaaaa! it’s so weird – when I was a kid – that was the place we shopped b/c it was sorta ramshackle(sp) and had a huge Gap and WALDBAUMS but now I just run in there when I visit my mom to go to Sephora or Crate and Barrell. It’s funny to see who really does their shopping there vs. people who just like to stroll
le chacal quote: Or move to a part of the country where there are jobs (South Dakota is desperate for labor).
This is kind of silly, but there are houses for sale for $5,000, in Braddock, PA. Of course the whole town is in gentrification, and few jobs; maybe some smart, energetic people could create some. The big *mayor* has been on the news often, etc, as we have observed. ha 🙂
“”DH, I think they could sell more stuff by making the store brighter, more like Target. It wouldn’t really cost much. And not everyone shops with a list! I am rarely on LI with time for shopping so I wandered the aisles looking for cheap shit that I need. As I said, some stuff cheaper, some stuff not.”
yeah – probably. i’ll admit i’m not really familiar with the wal-mart in valley stream (the one in stony brook is beautiful tho)
target is alot better, and oftentimes the prices are comparable, as you said.
i’m just sick and tired of paying 3 bucks more for deodorant and toilet paper in NYC! no wonder everyone smells so bad!

You can buy a decent house in Kansas City for $25k.
Granted, you can’t own a Prius and buy organic free range cruelty free fair trade LEED certified chicken, but you can get by. I know people who do.
“When I am in LI – I like wandering at a place called The Americana
It’s hilarious – the store list goes like this:”
haha – that mall is hilarious. the americana – helping long island’s north shore elite dress pretentious and tacky!!

I’m not being funny, but Walmart really has gone on a whole ‘green’ rampage. Could that be part of it?
See y’all later, off to get my allergy shots.
