  1. When I am in LI – I like wandering at a place called The Americana
It’s hilarious – the store list goes like this:
    Hermes
    Louis Vuitton
    Gucci
    Burberry
    Jimmy Choo
    Dior
    Fendi
    Prada
    Tiffany

Basically every car is a Benz/Rolls or BMW

However they also have key stores like Crate&Barrel, Sephora, Gap and H&M

Yes, i too am liberal on a number of issues, issues that don’t certainly fit the mainstream of what your arguably bigotted view of the poor folks in Alabama is.

Tell me about what you know about poor folks in Alabama, please do.

This wasn’t about the poor folks of Alabama. It was about NYGuy7 telling non-liberals to move to Alabama. It had nothing to do with what I may or may not know about Alabama.

    REading Comprehension.

    Don’t change the subjest.

  3. Obviously been a long time since I’ve lived on min wage but I would have no problem doing it if need be.

I’ll do anything for a living except an ass-kissing job (a doorman) or extremely repetitive job (running a punch press).

In fact I picked up a gig in the nabe taking out the garbage, sweeping, and shoveling in a small 2fam for $100/month (snow extra). Why? It’s tax free and it reminds me that I can do whatever I need to do if it gets to that.

I wonder what the tenants think when I show up in my BMW.

  4. quote:
Etson, 2 people hardly constitute “most”, unless the pool is limited to 3. There are certainly more than 3 people carrying on here about the (sarcasm alert) many, many options available for the poor.

so what. i dont know what your point is. there ARE many MANY more things available to the poor, than say someone struggling like myself and many others.

excuuuuuse me for not having been born with a uterus to exploit.

    *rob*

  5. quote: were hot but only find 1 model to be someone I would date long term.

m4l, you are funny (married for one thing!)
other subject, m4l, maybe you considered this already, but there is a good school in Cobble Hill mentioned frequently on stoner. don’t know if you’ve considered living in Cobble Hill — can’t keep up with everything here!

  6. NYGuy7, unless you are willing to cite SEC filings on the ami=ount of taxes 9this was covered yesterday for XOM), don’t bother qupoting magazine articles as sources for tax filings.

Additionally, since most companies actually had operating losses and capital losses (certainly GE) last year, there are legitimate Tax Loss carryforwards.

XOM did pay US taxes. Like i said, refrain from data from the popular press, you’re likely to make a wrong investment decision. the SEC filings are readily available for all to see.

  8. DH, I think they could sell more stuff by making the store brighter, more like Target. It wouldn’t really cost much. And not everyone shops with a list! I am rarely on LI with time for shopping so I wandered the aisles looking for cheap shit that I need. As I said, some stuff cheaper, some stuff not.
