I have a landline because I need it for my alarm system. The cheapest, cheapest, cheapest for dial tone only and only local calls is around $45 dollars!!! That is with the amazing amount of taxes.
I think the least I’ve ever paid was $20.
I pay $22 in an office in the Slope

freaking “dial tone” charge is ~16. the surcharges and taxes are like ~17. so tack on the local call plan, bam bam, there’s your 40/month. what a ripoff.

legion- MM has the double hung windows- going to use it to repair hers, and I’m keeping the other one. Selling at the flea is not cheap- we have to rent a car for the entire day, pay for the space, and hope people will buy what we have. Been there, done that. It cost more to do the show than we brought in. Tr5ust me- I’m not sitting here doing nothing about looking for work or bringing in money- details are not something I feel like posting on the OT.
She should be fine, m4l, especially if she’s getting dsl through verizon. I stream netflix, hulu, and live broadcasts without any problems on my shared bandwidth through Cablevision with few problems. I do get slow downs during peak hours, though.
