Boerum — we’ve been trying to figure this out for qutie some time. best as I can glean, a moonface is anyone rob says it is, but generally applies if the person is young, white, female, college-educated and doesn’t look like she grew up in NYC.
Moonface…..used commonly by OT’s Butterfly, aka *rob*
to describe a pasty, 20 something, priviledged, subsidized, spoiled, whiny, shallow, white woman living in NYC and consuming luxury goods and expensive silly status foods/consumer goods. These creatures give Butterfly a serious amount of distress. There are other meanings you might find in a medical dictionary, but they are all meaningless. The above is the relevant one.

Gem, you should consider joining parkslopeparents. Their classifieds list always has zillions of messages for people giving away or selling (cheap!) baby stuff. It’s $25/year but they have a hardship option for $5 I think.

I think you will find the parenting yahoogroup very useful for all kinds of stuff once the babe is here. Sure there’s plenty to make fun of but you will build a new community for yourself once you have your kid.

Mostly Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.
also many giveaways.
There are a bunch of other brownstone Brooklyn neighborhood Yahoogroups but psp is the biggest by far, and FGKids is the best of the rest I think.
Infants change and grow so quickly that stuff is almost new once the baby doesn’t need it anymore. Of course you want some new stuff I am sure, and you will get gifts, but you can save a bunch of bucks on second-hand giveaways.
Rob, I told BoerumHill to come ask you for definition of moon face – felt he needed to hear it from the man who coined and popularized the term.
BH, need Rob to explain what “crotchfruit” is too?

Goldman is boosting GDP forecasts and recommending banks for 2011. This is a big shift in their overall growth expectations.

***Umm..EXCUSE ME***
Yeah…so…some guy in another thread told me to come and ask what a moonface is
Yeah…yes, that’s correct
MOON FACE
***Umm..OK, THANKS!***
(the man turns around and walks out, expecting to be pegged in the back with a half-eaten piece of fruit before he reaches the door)
