  1. JFK Assassin’s Original Coffin Put Up for Auction

Los Angeles (AP) — A ghoulish piece of American history is now up for sale to the highest bidder.
The modest wooden coffin in which John F. Kennedy’s assassin was buried is being auctioned online by Texas mortuary owner Allen Baumgardner.
    D. Sanders Auctions of Santa Monica, which is handling the sale, believes Lee Harvey Oswald’s coffin could fetch as much as $100,000.
It was exhumed in 1981 in an attempt to put to rest conspiracy theories that Oswald really wasn’t in it. Oswald’s body was then reburied in a replacement coffin because the original suffered water damage during its 17 years in the ground.
Baumgardner said Wednesday he has held onto the original since the day it was dug up.

  2. Gem, Lechacal may tell you about ridiculous messages (e.g., seekers of organic Christmas trees). But of course his wife thinks it’s worth the money or else he couldn’t read said ridiculous messages!

  3. RF – THANK YOU! You reminded me – I had checked them out 2 months ago but didn’t want to spend the $25 to join the group back then – but now that I am 6 months prego – I think it’s time!
