    Ditto – probably. Kinda like “good looking” when you’re talking about female lawyers.”

    I just saw this. So so so funny because it’s true. Lawyers are such train wrecks. Men and women alike. Every time I hang out with normals I get really uncomfortable because I’m actually seen as kind of a baller by some lawyers but normal people just look at me like a pasty dweeby pencil pushing dork.

  2. “in what ways do you mean?”

    1) Reproductive rights: shouldn’t be a political issue or up for debate in branch of government.

    2) Gun Ownership: constitution pretty clearly outlines this right. Besides, illegal guns are more of a problem than legally obtained firearms.

    3) Drug use: all of it needs to be legal and it needs to be regulated in the same manner as alcohol and tobacco products (taxed and some type of quality control established).

  3. I thought the Dems were going to win Illinois on the machine vote in Chicago, so was pleasantly surprised by that one.
    Thought PA Senate would be a larger victory, but PA had been trending Dem since at least 2000 (driven by Philly area) so it’s good to have two statewide wins.
    A bit disappointed in Colorado, even if we do pull it out (seems unlikely), I thought we were ahead there. Lack of individualist Western spirit is disapponting!

  4. CGar;

    I agreed with Etson because he made the statement that the Republicans need to find “stronger candidates”. In my mind, that is not the same thing as saying that they need to temper their policy proposals, which is what Wasder was getting at.

    Anyway, that’s it for me today – got to get some work done!

  5. Giddy up people! I almost voted for Paladino (sp) last night…heard he was pro medical MJ 🙂 then I figured I should get my priorities in line. Jack Slade is for the babies!

    Thanks for the shout Gem! Peoples, Gem and I go back like Tyra Bank’s hair line.

    message sent cgar!!

  6. I wasn’t saying I’m liberal CGar, I was saying I’m hardest on people who are otherwise like me (white New Englanders) but don’t think like me. It’s just the usual herd behavior. Herds are threatened by members who are different. And I think it’s fair to use the word “threatened”. Palin is threatening to liberal women because there is a power to herds thinking uniformly, and when women like Palin think differently it threatens that power. “We’re all women and we stand united on XYZ” can be pretty powerful, but when there’s a successful, popular woman standing over there saying “um, no, that’s bullshit, and guess what I’m a woman” that can be threatening. And you can’t just kick her out of your herd, you’re stuck with her because she’s a woman. So you hate on her super super hard because her difference threatens you.

  7. benson, lol, you agree with etson, who agrees with wasder and me, but not with wasder and me, even though we all said the same thing???

    [Note to Self: This is why, political junkie that I am, I typically avoid these discussions.]
