“I can’t believe how dripping with money Overland Park and the rest of Johnson county is.”
BARF!!!! It’s a gigantic strip mall. Like Florida but with worse weather and nowhere near an ocean. OP is nice if your life consists of going from box store to box store in a gigantic SUV and buying shit you don’t need, but otherwise gag me.
In-laws live on State Line road near 119th so I always end up conducting raids into OP for coffee and stuff down 119th. Also inevitably going to eat at some big box store restaurant that tries to style itself as French or Italian or whatever. You know, start with a giant box that can just as easliy be a Dick’s Sporting Goods or a Gap or some other chain store, add a couple of fountains, plaster casts of a few old statues, and the kind of posters that college students put on their walls to try to look cultured (old time French movies, the one where the cat is licking milk out of a bowl, ads for stuff like absinthe) and voila! French restaurant. Don’t worry about actually cooking French food though, the gigantically fat people who waddle in from their SUV to take advantage of the $9.99 all you can eat buffet won’t know the difference. I hate humans.
D-Cat, The husband and wife incorporated. When they took out the new mortgage (the new very big mortgage), they transferred title to a corporation but they are the principals.
I had a broker once who was pushing me to go to contract without an inspection. Like such a fussy thing to do wastes time and somebody else could rush in! Whoa. This is your biggest investment, for the most part. Hey take your time and you can use “issues” to negotiate if there is nobody else in line.
107 moving ahead. Getting engineer inspection today. Using Richard Perry who came highly recommended.
Turns out the owner is a corporation.
My RE lawyer tells me the contract the seller sent over was barely intelligible. And had some obvious flaws.
Odd.
Also, the broker became very aggressive once she got wind of a potential closing. Obviously, I am not going to rush a deal ahead without doing full due diligence. I guess she is not a very keen judge of character!

DCB, make sure the engineer confirms the oven works so that Mrs DCB can bake me those brownies.
