snappy, if you’re to hang tv on stud, the prof look is to put wiring behind the dry wall vs. it hanging out naked for eye to see. dont have skillz for that. hang onto concrete wall, I agree with you on that it’s not hard, not costly, a DIY. but most folks who have concrete walls end up just putting that big tv on top of a TV unit.
Biff, I had the brisket last time I was there and loved it. I am not a tongue person though – I used to go to the deli with my mom when I was a kid, and there behind the deli counter was the entire tongue, all of it!! Ugh. Traumatized for life.
I think if I really loved my tv, I’d take it, remove the mount and patch the holes in the drywall. Otherwise, I’d let it go. But if I bought a place, I wouldn’t want anyone else’s tv. It’s highly likely that they would have mounted it in a spot that my super picky ass wouldn’t like 🙂
Snappy, there was an article about this in the Times Real Estate section a couple of weeks. Does the wall mounted TV stay or go? Is it a fixture? If the TV goes, what about the mounting bracket? If the bracket goes, who is responsible for repairing the wall damage?
In apartments I’ve looked at/bid on, the TV and mounting have been offered to me if I wanted them.

I can’t believe you don’t like chocolate, Snappy. I love chocolate, especially dark. I eat chocolate everyday in some way or other.
Dibs, did you lock in your heating oil?
Re gold, tremendous volatility today.
“But it’s not costly to mount a tv!”
I heard it’s around 500-1,000 baht in Bangkok.
And that’s for the whole night.
