Last months rent is NOT a security deposit. You’re fortunate most landlords can’t be bothered with small claims or housing court to sue your ass.

only if the person who im renting from agrees tho. when i lived in an apartment in harlem (the first apt and i was actually on the lease) the management company was all bitchy saying we couldnt do that.
when moving tho, for a lot of people, they need to put their security deposit as the last month’s rent otherwise they wont be able to put down a security deposit for their next place! i wish more landlords were understanding of that. cant the landlords just bill the old tenants if they find something wrong with the place?
