  1. Milk and pizza. no. The Snappy people have unusual culinary tastes. 🙂 I grew up eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, transitioned at young adulthood (18?) to pizza. We are talking staples here.

  2. From the technicians standpoint, 1,400 needs to be broken before it can rocket to 2,000.

Gartman (gold bug extraordinaire) noted today that the net short position of gold hedgers were extremely short and “The last time the hedgers were this short was back in mid-summer before gold fell $100/ounce. They were also this net short last November and December, before gold fell $160/ounce.

Do with this information as you wish, but if the past is
prologue to the future… if the child is the father to the
man… gold’s future for the next several weeks is
    tenuous at best.”

  3. quote:
Last months rent is NOT a security deposit. You’re fortunate most landlords can’t be bothered with small claims or housing court to sue your ass

i’ve really only had one landlord proper tho living in nyc.
im a tad off the grid you can say.

  4. “I love chicken liver.”

I missed the segue into the “What am I, chopped liver?” chat, but my Jewish mother, alav hasholom, used to make amazing chopped chicken liver, with sauteed onions, delish, and taught me how.

Oh, and dave, I gladly make it for all my overnight guests.

  5. M4L, this is a CHANGE in trading pattern for gold, increased volatility, new highs, marketing trading down on the day, this is a break with the pattern of last few weeks. The news of FED adding more liquidity to system fed the fire for a bit, but in futures anyway, which is highly leveraged and after a while short holders (who need to pony up margin everyday) throw in the towel. In futures, we look at different things, i.e. open interest versus volume versus market direction, option volatility, etc. This is where we put the yellow signal on, take a deep breath, protect yourself and observe carefully. Uptrend solidly intact, obviously, but market getting a little nervous. I had tentatively put a 1400 number for taking profits. Let’s watch.
