I once went out for Halloween as a Freudian slip. I wore a slip with the words “Ego”, “Id”, “Superego”, “Oedipal Complex”, “Fausse Reconnaisance”, “Penis Envy”, etc. all over it.

it’s your job as host to make sure your guests are comfy cozy. Clean towels, sheets, food/drink, temp., extra blankets, or A/C.
:-/ what kind of high maintenance house guests do you people have over!?
my rules for house guests:
1.) dont eat or drink what you didnt buy or bring over
2.) when i say it’s time for you to go, it’s time for you to go, no lingering around!
3.) mcdonalds is right down the street if you get hungry or need to poop.
4.) if i go in my bedroom and close the door it means i need to be alone for a bit and collect my thoughts and dont wanna be around you. if im in there for more than 30 minutes, it means it’s probably time for you leave.
5.) lock the door on your way out
I think the President is uncomfortable with organized religion.
No doubt as a consequence of his history.
And I don’t think that the President’s view of this
nation has, at it’s base, an acknowledgement of the
strong religious values which molded its birth.
I don’t necessarily think his avoidance of religious dogma is a bad thing, mind you. I just think it is apparent.
“Seriously, how do people not see this? I’ve heard so many stories of people not doing basic host duties. ”
yeah – i agree that there are certain things one should do / have readily available if they have people staying with them.
but if it’s not offered to you, and you’re hungry, it seems odd to me that you’d be hesitant to just tell your “friend” “hey, i’m hungry – do you have anything to eat?”
legion,
I watched it. I don’t buy the snake oil you are peddling. Obama mentions faith and that all men are “created” equal. It’s only a freudian slip if it reveals something the speaker was trying to suppress. What do you think it reveals to make it a freudian slip, doctor?
“DH, if one invites friends over (for the day, overnight, couple of days, etc), should have food/drink inventory stocked. if not, be diligent enough to poll anyone want any food, drinks, etc from the super mkt, pizzeria,….”
Absolutely. Unless the person is elderly, or infirm, or parent of a new baby— it’s your job as host to make sure your guests are comfy cozy. Clean towels, sheets, food/drink, temp., extra blankets, or A/C, as needed, etc.

Ummm, Cobble, put your mouth where my money is, and kindly keep all that in mind next time you make up my tent.
Thanks, CG! I definitely know who his parents are/were. His mother was in a really well-known Danish television series, among other things.
