  1. snappy, a couple of weeks you wanted to know if I boycotted any products, well now that “the situation” from the “joisey shore” is spokesman, Vitamin Water is no longer my go to drink the morning after one too many martinis.

They’ll probably do smashing business when the product gets placed on the show, buy the stock!

  2. Etson, re California, I watched that power crisis with a morbid fascination. Everybody blamed Enron for the blackouts and the chaos there, but the utility probems were structural, caused by the State of California. Recipe for disaster:

Unbundle generation, merchant function and distribution.
Make traditional regulated utilities buy power from merchants at freely fluctuating rates and then limit the rates they can charge to consumers. When there was record heat and lack of hydro from Canada, the formula bankrupted the utilities!!!!

Very California. NY by the way and PJM (Pennsylvania, Jersey, Maryland) were the most rational and logical of all plans.

  3. ACtually Dona, Snaps is right b/c I did this for a few months:

If you live on 223 street and Hempstead Avenue in Queens Village – you have a 15 minute walk to the bus up on Hillside Avenue then take that bus(which takes another 20 mins) to the F train to then hop on that all through Queens as it’s not express and it takes another 50-60 mins to get to a part in the city where you can transfer

  4. “Staten Island gets the short shrift with every city service available. Everything. Has anyone heard about the succession movement? ”

I would vote for it, myself. SI is really more like NJ than NYC.
