Donatella, I have to go, but what about the folks in parts of Brooklyn and Queens who have to drive or walk a really long distance to get to a bus to then get on a train? That’s three modes of transport right there, just like the SI people. The BK and Queens folks pay for their gas money, bus ride, subway ride. Let the SI folks pay for their ferry. Shit ain’t supposed to be free just cause it’s difficult. The MTA is broker than a joke and even if only temporarily instituted, ferry fairs could help out a lot.
I think it is hilarious to hear people thinking Staten Island is getting some kind of free ride. Staten Island gets the short shrift with every city service available. Everything. Has anyone heard about the succession movement? It was ultimately voted down in Albany but Staten Islanders got fed up several years ago and voted to create their own city — they have gotten crapola from New York City from the days they had truck farming and it was a backwater pre-Verazzano.

Donatella, the same could be said of the folks living in the parts of Brooklyn and Queens where there is no train or bus anywhere nearby.
Not really Snappy, because most Staten Islanders have to take a bus or train to the Ferry (sometimes drive to the bus or train!!!) and then the Ferry and from the ferry get connected to the MTA subway system. It is either that or an express bus. Staten Islanders used to be in a triple fare zone!! (when they charged for the ferry).
Please, isn’t living in Staten Island punishment enough?! (KIDDING!)
