CH: yeah it’s weird b/c it’s not MR.B- I checked his twitter and he hasn’t “retweeted” the OT – so who is??????????????????
I also think if we are on the subject of charging SI residents to take that ferry each way to NYC – then we should DEFINTELY look into “registering” Bikes just like cars. That’s an excellent way for the State of NY to make some $$
Re Staten Island, anyone wanting to institute a ferry fare should propose this to any public official. Really. go for it. Try selling this as a plan for Staten Island which has had f**k all for services since the beginning of time.
I took my kids to the Staten Island Children’s Museum last week. Beautiful setting in Sag Harbor. Surrounded by acres of greens and nice old buildings that are part of a (fomer?) Naval officers’ retirement community. I came back with a higher opinion of Staten Island.
Gem, how many fares do you have to pay from that area in Queens? One right? With a Metrocard. That is what they are trying to do with keeping the ferry free.
I think they are very literally getting a free ride. I mean, I know they are.
I’m not really all that interested in hearing about how commuting from an ISLAND can be long and arduous. Well, yeah. There are a lot of places I didn’t move because it’s too far from work. God bless if you’re willing to spend 90 minutes commuting to your desk, but I’m not interested in paying for it.
san diego has had plenty of local financial problems over the years. and wasn’t orange county, the republican breeders ground, in serious trouble too once on its own?
I’ve not seen well in years, is that how I ended up on this site?

Donatella, I’m suggesting people should swipe their Metrocards to get on SI ferry.
KO owns Energy brands which makes Vitaminwater.

That sort of thing never happens in the Bronx.
