back in NYC for 2 days of work. Leave in morning for Maine for rest of week. Total days off in August = 13.
“in ’09, the average American worker got
13 days of paid holidays… one half as many as did our
British friends. Ah, but British workers were absolute
workaholics compared to the rest of continental
Europe, where we are told that the average French
worker received a stunning 38 days of paid holidays.”
see, blindly going with the “buy, hold, & ignore forever” investing approach is dangerous.
investing these days means one is likely to encounter a professional investor / institution as the counterparty so if one aint going to brush up to monitor their investmts, might as well be holding cash, CD’s,….
i am loving this weather!!! nice and cool, no fugly sun popping it’s annoying face in yours, and less tourists milling about.
lol this morning on the news there was another bedbug segment (they’ve been having a bedbug segment like every morning in the last few weeks) today is about how bedbugs are ruining playdates for children. parents are now overly chary about having kids in their homes who might be infested and vice versa. i truly believe that begbugs are going to be the cause of major anarchy in the coming year or so.
