  1. “As they say, 830 million Europeans can’t be wrong ;).”

It certainly looks like something’s wrong over there. I bet it starts with things like taxes and the work ethic that the tax system enables. Why is there no technology invented in Europe???

    Just food for thought.

  2. Rob, I know plenty of committed gay couples, both male and female, who have been together for years, some 30 years or more. People fall in love, and can stay faithful and committed to each other, doesn’t matter what your sexual oriention. That is why they should be allowed to make it legal.

You insult them with your narrow minded pronouncements. Your negative experiences, actually everything in your life seems to be negative, do not represent the reality of most people’s lives. If you can’t have happiness in your own life, and I feel sorry for you if you can’t, then at least allow others the benefit of enjoying, in peace, their loved ones and the relationships they have with them.

  3. But, I will admit, if my own mother, who I love and respect above all others, didn’t feel the way BC did, I’d very likely be quick to tossing out nasty names towards BC. It is because of my love and respect for my mother that I tend to temper myself in these discussions. For the life of me, I can’t understand how anyone believes/feels any differently than I do on this issue, but I also know that they, too, wonder how anyone could possibly disagree with them.

  4. >No, they don’t. Some of the most successsful ones like Hong Kong have a flat tax

Please. If you’re going to take outliers like HK (and not doubt Singapore, that charm of a ‘country’ we should all aspire to) then I have no more to say.

As they say, 830 million Europeans can’t be wrong ;).

  5. And yes, I would get married if there were a tax advantage. That decision will be put off to my retirement years since right now it’s not possible and more importantly, my tax situation will change when I’m retired.

I’ll also be more active with the NRA.

  6. Benson, sorry, must have read it too fast!

I’m not interested in demonizing BC because we are all adults here – we have our deeply ingrained beliefs/opinions and this is an issue that is not likely to have any converts for either side. The best we can do, IMO, is try to understand where the other side is coming from and respect their right to be coming from that place.
