Rob, not voting is not a form of protest, it’s a cop out. Most elections cover multiple candidates running for local, state and national office. Not voting is not just dissing one or two candidates, it’s tossing the whole democratic process in the trash. I’m sorry, but too many people of color, and too many people of good will and sacrifice have died so that I can vote, and you can slap them in the face. I don’t think you’ll get much support for your position here, on either side of the fence.
And I never said you, or anyone else, can’t express their opinion. You, and they, can talk all you want, just don’t expect every pearl of wisdom that you utter to be accepted just because you are *rob*. Shame on me? Yeah, right.
Besides the quality of the average person’s life is a LOT better in Europe. I’d trade that any time for the dubious honor of having spawned the next Brin.
Rob, I don’t think anyone, including MM, has a problem with you voicing your opinion. The problem lies in the fact that with all your pronouncements comes a statement as fact that *ALL* persons in that category are guilty of whatever you are speaking of. Example: *ALL* nurses are evil,*ALL* gay men cheat, *ALL* gay marriages will fail. You can never toss everyone neatly into a single box.

“The best we can do, IMO, is try to understand where the other side is coming from and respect their right to be coming from that place.”
Worth repeating.

Ummmm…..hate to state the obvious but this isn’t The Huffington Post comments section, it’s a blog about brownstones.
Anyone care to join some of the other threads, or shall we just make Brownstoner a chat room?

I hate to delve into this, but here goes:

>Why is there no technology invented in Europe???
A few words: Nokia. Mercedes Benz Smart. BMW anyhthing. Rolls Royce jets. Hi-speed trains (and LRV’s).
Please don’t talk rot to make a point, you’re too intelligent for that.
