  1. a lot of amnesia on the tax issue… highest tax rates have been over 90% at times… we still pay the lowest tax rate in the West… but no matter how low the tax rates go, a lot of wealthy folx find it too much and send to Switzerland… see recent settlements with CS and UBS.

  2. MM you are not a gay man, so you have no clue what youre even talking about. just because you “have gay friends”? take your santicmoninious PC garbage and shove it in a glorey hole. okay im being mean, but my point is that just because someone doesnt have a popular opinion (or even a popular one) doesnt mean they are wrong and cannot speak!

  3. “I know they pushed [Omar T]; they did this to him,” Ms. Hannah said. “I know what was said, and I know it was very hurtful, and I know it bothered him a lot” …[so he murders 5 innocent co-workers!]

“Mr. Thornton’s family, after spending much of Tuesday defending him…”

This level of excusing personal actions is appalling.

    It’s a sign of the times—discuss.

  4. quote:
You also can’t call yourself a true conservative, considering you don’t even participate in the political process. Those who don’t vote don’t get to bitch if things aren’t to their liking.

REally wise know it all!? not voting is a form of protest btw, and just as valid as voting. if i find all the candidates barf worthy, why would i vote?

and shame on your for telling people they dont have the right to express themselves and state their opinions.

  5. I was aiming a little higher, Dibs, I am thinking I might like to have a Holy Card made of me dressed up, standing on the top of a brownstone, arms crossed wearing a tiara.

On a more serious note, I respect the approach Snappy takes and also agree with Benson that about the importance of discussion and moral suasion. With respect. I also believe in conversion. Not intellectual violence. Sometimes here you see people in the head-tilted high, self-righteous about some moral and ethical issue while they feel free to swing the mace ball, insult and pour ad hominum abuse on those who have not accepted their oxthodoxy. And although out of the taboo topics for discussion, sex and politics are ok here, religion often is not. But there, I also believe in conversion. You never win someone over by violence. If the world were neatly (or not so neatly) divided by the lines drawn by cable TV channels, we’d all be fucked.
