DH;
I very well could make a soap opera out of the travails of my condo’s first 1.5 years. Some people on this site (antidope, for one) know some of the story. I can’t say too much, because there is still the possibility of litigation. Suffice it to summarize as follows: I was the Board president the first year when we were having major issues with the sponsor. I advocated an approach of negotiation with the sponsor. Slowly but surely we made progress.
Some folks were out for the sponsor’s blood, however, and wanted a course of litigation/revenge. After mounting pressure, I left – let them have their way, as the majority was with them. Well, they got nowhere, except to build up some lawyer’s bills.
I WAS on the Board. I left under fire. I came to realize that my views on how the condo should be run are in a distinct minority. That’s why I’m thinking of moving to a place that is more in sync with my values. See, the beauty of the marketplace!
BC,
Sure! I am only a part time Sloper. I work out of town during the week mostly. I am usually back in PS at weekends.
Benson is another conservative Slope resident and is a good guy.
Also, a lot of this brownstoner crowd gets together for drinks every so often. Even people one may disagree with online are usually v.cool in real life!
