  1. snappy;

…my heartfelt thoughts are with you and mommy snappy 😉

    donatella,

…yeah, it’s hard to get fireworks these days. but before the Rudy G. ban they used to be everywhere. as a kid I used to buy them in some kids house, get this, their father was a policeman. wonder where they got them?lol

anyway, the fireworks had all these colorful names like cherrybombs, lady fingers, aerial bombs, whistle rockets and blockbusters. and stories of people losing fingers and hands were common.
one funny story I can tell is that we used to put firecrackers into dog poo and this one time I remember a kid placing one into a large turd and lighting it,
    …it had a “fast fuse”
the explosion was muted but the response was not,
the kid, I think his name was Andy ended up with a dog poo
    shampoo on his head. hilarious,
    he ran home.
I can only imagine his explanation to his mother and the cleaning he had to undergo.

lesson; when blowing up dog poo, make sure the fuses are looooooong!

ugh macs sucks. sorry i dont do status symbol electronics, that’s just lame.

I hear ya, but if ya forget to check if a computer has wireless, maybe it’s a no-brainer.

Anyway Asus and several others make nice netbooks for under $300. In fact I carry one with me all day, was able to dump a million pages of catalog and engineering data on it and lighten my load considerably.

  3. okay dumb question… if there is a power outage, do the trains run? during the 2003 blackout i just walked home and didnt need to take the train. what happens if you inside the train and the power goes out? ugh. that sounds terrifying!

i also feel terribly faint right now

  4. ConEd has a program whereby they give some office buildings a better price on electric, if, on a half hour’s notice, they get to take the building off the grid. The building then has to switch on backup generators. Be interesting to see if they do this today.

  5. Hi, everyone,

Just dropping in to say hello.

    P.S. Very funny, ENY @ 11:39.

P.P.S. I have some garden questions. Is arkady around? Anyone else know how many years it takes for a trumpet creeper to flower? The damn thing keep creeping, but no trumpets so far, and this is the second summer. And it is a trumpet creeper — I matched the leaf pattern with the trumpet creeper that’s gone all Louis Armstrong in the community garden around the corner. Also, our crape myrtle only put out 2 flowers this year. Is there a way I should prune it to get more flowers next year?
