dona, I recently bought a new laptop for Mrs. D. In spite of the recall, I think Vaios are great computers. This one is super-fast, and it came in pink. Very well built.
I’m never gonna buy another Dell anything, after reading that article. Pissed that I bought a Dell server at work.
surprisingly there were no flyers of any type for me to tear down after the weekend (at least on the couple blocks that is my territory).
You know how along highways – they have erected signs for what volunteer group keeps the section clean….
I think we may have started that on Smith St.
donatella, we’ve got an 2010 HP that cost $550 with windows 7, fast and works well with work. Too bad about Dell laptop issues, ours lasted 9 years.
biff, as for ordering bike online I would see how much is assembled prior to shipping. If need to start messing with cables and such it maybe worth the extra money to go to a shop.
hope you all had a great 4th of July.
I lounged around on Sunday with the family.
Sunday night though was quite a scene on the beach,
everyone and their grandmother was there blowing off
whatever they had managed to “find” around the house,
since fireworks are technically illegal in NYC.
Riis Park had quite a show going, lasted a full hour
and I could see the fireworks on the Jersey Shore from
my view.
Littlelegion and I had some mini roman candles and giant sparklers.
there were helicopters and bottle rockets going off left and right, someone was lighting off firecrackers a mat at a time.
all the while there were great flowering explosions from the Riis park show.
….ahhh, just like old times when I used to go to coney island on the 4th.
only thing missing was were the blockbusters,M-80’s,ashcans and pineapples which used to be the firework of choice for rowdy teenagers. those things were dangerous.
I just read that article about Dell. What a mess. The only reason I didn’t purchase a Dell was because everyone I knew with one had problems/hated it AND I wanted to be able to get my laptop serviced in person as soon as I had a problem (I admit I’m impatient). I purchased a Macbook. I don’t think they’re any better than your better PCs (Lenovo and Sony specifically), but everyone I know, even folks with mac problems, said the customer service is pretty good.
I am so aggravated because I just spent 150 bucks to replace the battery on the POS which had died. Also bought 50 dollars worth of RAM. Maybe I can sell the battery on ebay….
We got my parents a Toshiba laptop which is great. I am definately throwing in the towel.

Hey Legion! How are you doing?
(LOL, Dave)
Snappy;
Best wishes for your mamma. You’re obviously a good daughter and try to be there for her.
Goota go, talk to you in a few days.
