Cobble – I’d send her a memo listing the issues you have w/ her & telling her that you think she’s sabotaging herself. Couch it as constructive criticism, not bitching: i.e. “I’ve liked the references you’ve given me but wonder if you undermine your efforts on my behalf by, for instance, ________.”
Only really new place I’ve been to lately is Fatty ‘Cue – some good dishes, some mediocre. BIG price tag for a place where for $100 (for two) you won’t leave full or drunk.
I went to new sushi joint (only sushi joint in the hood) on Cortelyou called SUMO SUSHI and it was pretty bad :o(. There goes my hopes for decent sushi place in Ditmas Park. Will have to go back to my usual sushi place(s) in Midwood or Park Slope. Oh I went with to Iron Chef House and their sushi was yummy.
“It’s terrible! Why cant’ I just think it and make it so?! I really thought I’d be able to do that by now. Also, where is my jet pack? C’mon!!”
I feel your pain, Ringo, the world has failed us. They ‘fed us’ the Jetson’s growing up, and expect us to deal with reality now! It’s just not right! LOL!
I experienced little earthquakes in Tokyo all the time. It felt a little like the A train which now shakes my house a little. But once I experienced a big one there, not dangerous, but the road was rumbling under my feet. I forget what the strength was high 5s? 6? There was no serious damage; Tokyo has learned how to live with those. It was very exciting, freaky for me though. I didn’t notice anything this afternoon.

dona, I am pulling my hair out over this one. I was/am FURIOUS! I think she low-balled me to the potential employer, fed us (the potential employer and myself) both lines about what was what with the other. And then had the nerve to give me the email address for the guy I had a phone interview with 5 DAYS later after I asked her for it!! I ALWAYS send a thank you note IMMEDIATELY. AND she wanted to VET my thank you note! I’m beside myself. And now this person wants to look for other positions for me. I want to tell her to take a hike (nicely, of course.)
