  1. CGar, did you make it over to the Bond St open house?

We took the weekend off from house hunting to see how the other half lives; three days in Shelter Island Heights has convinced me we are doing everything wrong.

  2. “Thanks, What. I have the HDMI output on a new TV so I’ll try it with that tonight. Simple as connecting with an HDMI cable from laptop to TV? (Sorry for the stupid questions).”

Just connect the HDMI from the laptop to the TV.

Plus get Video Lan Client—> http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

    This will play everything..

Or you can pick this up–> http://www.monsoonmultimedia.com/products.html

    Works great!

    The What

Someday this war is gonna end..

  3. “Of course I want a great deal if I can find one, but at this point my killer instinct is`taking a back seat to being sick of renting. (Which is costing more, after taxes, than buying).”

Which is why prices aren’t coming down. tell that to the others…….

  4. MM:
yes when I left there was a long line. I agree, it’s ok to have an opinion but save it until you are out of earshot. I loved the Garfield house. I also loved one of the 1st street houses as well which had been completely redone. I had a really good time and I appreciate the volunteers who help out at each house.
I definetely plan to go to more house tours!

  5. “so guy is gonna come this afternoon for washing machine. Should I ask him about hooking up the computer to the TV?”

Hope he doesn’t screw up and you end up with videos being projected on your washing machine and suds coming out of your TV.

  6. Biff: The same houses have been on the market for months at asking prices well above peak comps. Otherwise, there is just very little new inventory.
I guess my estimate of a “fair price” is based on comps on the same block, or in the vicinity.
Of course I want a great deal if I can find one, but at this point my killer instinct is`taking a back seat to being sick of renting. (Which is costing more, after taxes, than buying).
