  1. typical stop for speeding:

    -hello officer

    -license and registration please

    -why?

-license for identification of your person
registration to determine if you are in your car legally.

    -very well.

  2. legion- it says “reasonable suspicion” without defining what that may be. Of course you get asked for id of you’re stopped for speeding- speeding is illegal. But you had to break the law before they stopped you. I don’t see why you can’t grasp this.

  3. here’s the provision:

_ Requires police officers to “make a reasonable attempt” to determine the immigration status of a person if there is a “reasonable suspicion” that he or she is an illegal immigrant. Race, color or national origin may not be the only things considered in implementation. Exceptions can be made if the attempt would hinder an investigation.

sounds like the same provision for the Port Authority of NY and NJ to me.
much better than the current policy of : you cannot ask a person if they are a legal citizen of this nation.
    baloney.

  4. “Are we back to only providing for “the deserving poor?” like the Victorians? ”

Not back MM, forward! If I catch your ass at Mickey D’s, you’re out of the program!

    (not a personal ‘you’, obviously)

  5. cobble, me and my best friend and astrotwin (she killed herself tho tragically a few days before 9/11) from college was going to start a cleaning service called Ooops I Lost My Top cleaning. basically i would arrange the clients and dates and times and fees and she would go to their apartments or houses and start cleaning, but really moreso doing a strip tease while she’s cleaning. it never panned out tho. im sure that idea has been done many times, it seemed novel at the time to us tho 🙁 i really wish we followed thru with the plan, who knows she may have been alive today!

    *rob*

  6. denton: Thus my advice: solve for WHEN and WHERE people want to buy what you are making and you’ll do well. Too many people just hang out a shingle and don’t solve for that.

cobble – low barrier to entry means the barrier is low for you too. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to see if this works for you. Don’t let the idea of competition scare you. There is a lot of competition because there is so much opportunity out there to compete for.
