I was only giving the stats on racial percentages as an indication of the heterogenous nature of our society.
I could just as well have given Japan which is about 95% Japanese as an example of a more homogeneous society which is able to make decisions on societal issues without the prism of “racial” connotations that has become the norm in any large scale policy implemented in the United States.
For example, we can’t even ask somebody for a piece of ID to vote in this nation without it becoming an issue of race and class warfare.
for the record, Caucasions have just as many health issues as other races. 😉

This is turning into one of my more stressful days. Prepping for a global presentation call/meeting at some ungodly hour tomorrow morning, and I know I’m being hazed!! But my partner (no homo) and I are going to cushion the blow by bringing Dunkin’ Donuts.
Dona, my point was that if Benson is right that these folks are the mirror image of the 60s protesters, then, it might follow, that they coul dwell inspire an electoral backlash in the opposite direction if they are tied in the public’s mind to the republican party. But you are right, Nixon’s cynicism was part of what made that happen.
I wasn’t equating the tea party folks with Nixon’s cynicism itself.
But don’t worry, you expressed nuanced analysis, not polemic. You will be ignored here, not villified.
