  1. Lechacal, it’s the Decorate Your Brownstoner T-Shirt Contest! If you didn’t get an official B-stoner tee, take a plain t-shirt and decorate it with whatever you like that relates in whatever way you wish to Brownstoner. Prizes will be awarded 🙂

  2. “Re the Tea Party, I think they would probably fit more into the disaffected, frightened, ordinary people whose Nixon courted, and whose fury at “elites” could be manipulated away from their own true economic interests to culturally identify themselves with something which is more symbolism than anything else. (Oh, God, was this a good idea writing this??? Not having all afternoon to fight????)”

Ah yes, more condescension towards the Tea Party activists. The poor fools, not only are they racist, but they don’t even know where their true interests lie. Well, guess that’s what happens when you’re an ingnorant yahoo.

  3. “Donatella’s second paragraph at 3:01 is spot on.”

I agree with regard to the importance of ‘symbolism’ but disagree that such people are acting against ‘their own true economic interests’ in general.

  4. These debates would be 100% more awesome if we could include embedded pics and video and there was a hot mostly naked chick in the corner. I sure wish there were a blog where that could all happen.

  5. Biff, re real estate brokers, it’s the system here. It is unbelievable. In Kansas City, I bought a house and got a mortgage in 2 days. When I closed, I just went to the title company by myself and signed and that was it. HERE, I was tortured till the last minute with the games the seller kept playing (with a “what can you do?” attitude from the broker).

And CGar, whatever information you got, you should share with the broker, to keep everything open. If they are in on it, shame on them. If not, they need to know.
