Biff,
She was probably his nurse practitioner or physicians asst.
A lot of ortho offices use them to do all the grunt work and just get a brief report from them on the case (sorry, patient). It’s a way for them to increase their profit margin for the office.
Despite my post above as to the annoying waits at the doctors office, if I have an emergency I can usually be fit in the next day. So I’ve never complained to them because of that.
Probably, but still…this is my experience with almost every doctor I’ve ever had. I thought maybe it’s just me and they had to work up the courage to see me naked.
“Anyone ever have an orthopedist appt? You’ll wait hours.”
That’s exactly where I was yesterday! And yes, it was around 2 hours for a couple of minutes with the doctor and a few xrays. But again, it was not much different than my experience at most other doctors’ offices. I just couldn’t believe I was telling this woman all of my history and the issue and she was recording it all down and the doctor heard none of it first hand. I didn’t even know who she was.
Oh, forgot, The other and probably more common issue is that doc’s tend to overbook their patient load for the day with the expectation that a certain percentage will not show for their appts. Then, if more than expected # of patients actually show, or they have patients who need to be seen urgently (unscheduled) their in trouble. This can be avoided somewhat with good office managers.

Agree with DIBS, being late like that is the way to GET PEOPLE TO HATE YOU….not a way to keep clients or anybody interested in you.
“there are lots of people even in the business world who do the EXACT same thing.”
I don’t agree with that as a general statement, unless we’re talking about CVS or Gristedes.

Don’t ask what would entail an emergency.
Cobble it’s triage, pure and simple in that case.
“Biff, sounds like you need a new doc.”

“Legion will surely blame the Democrats for the long wait times.”
ROFL! He better not!!

Ummmm, no. They do not make their clients wait or they wouldn’t have any. Not in the real business world. Maybe at your bodega.
