Donatella:
I think when Andy dies or retires, they might fill his place with Mo Rocca who is a younger man’s curmudgeon currently on CBS sunday morning….
Also – wow you missed out on the pudding pies. But I getcha. My Best friend growing up had a mother who ONLY ate organic food and we talking the mid-80’s on Long Island…. so she never let her kids eat any junk food – whereas at my house it was junk food city – so we ate Entemann’s donuts like nuts. I also had the moment you described when my husband and I decided to try Hambuger Helper a few years back as a joke – WOW – it was gross – super salty!
M4L, I can’t take a wild guess on the cost on that reno. I really don’t know.
The underpinning probably was the biggest cost. And the cost depends on how far down you go. By the looks of it they got at least an 8′ clear ceiling height. I’m guessing they dug down a good 18″
you’ll have serious competition from benson, donatella. He’s now attacking what he thinks are my views on the separation of Church and State. It seems I do not have real American values. 🙂
” that was the one thing i didn’t like – but I didn’t want to be negative” – then what are you doing on Brownstoner if you don’t want to be negative?
I decided to get a new job – I am going for Andy Rooney’s job for when he retires from 60 minutes (but do those guys ever retire?). What a dream. to be a crank, a curmudgeon, a professional complainer…
I just remembered. My partner worked on a house where they underpinned the ‘basement’
If you’re interested, I can ask him how much it was for the underpinning. Not sure how far down they went.
i love pudding

Maybe he’s leaving later in the day- but he posted on the WatchTower thread.

Bxgrl, today? I thought he went to Israel and Norway. Or was that his parting shot?
